Kelly McIntosh, RevOps Manager at Tilt sat down to talk about their journey with Flowla, highlighting the pivotal role Flowla played in revitalizing their sales and onboarding processes.
From setback to solution
Some time ago, Tilt, a dynamic player in the HR tech industry, faced a critical challenge when their existing sales and onboarding tool, Stroll, was sunsetted. They needed a reliable alternative that could seamlessly integrate into their workflow but also offer enhanced capabilities to support their growing needs.
“It is absolutely business-critical. We consistently get feedback from our customers that our old tool was a competitive differentiator. They loved it, it makes everything so much easier. And that was with a less functional tool. And so we said, it helps us close deals. It helps us close deals faster. We have to get approval for Flowla. And I'm so glad we did!”
As the team began exploring alternatives, they realized that many of the available tools didn't quite meet their expectations. However, their search led them to Flowla, a tool they discovered in an unexpected way — as a recommendation from their previous vendor.
The team evaluated several competing tools, but Flowla quickly stood out due to its user-friendly design and robust feature set. The sales team, who were initially cautious about the switch, quickly adapted to Flowla and found it to be a significant improvement over their previous tool.
Implementation and adoption beyond sales
The transition from Stroll to Flowla was remarkably smooth. Given the urgency of replacing Stroll, Tilt needed a tool that their team could adopt quickly without a steep learning curve.
Flowla delivered on this front, allowing the sales team to hit the ground running.
“When we rolled out Flowla, they just kept saying over and over: This is so easy, it's so nice, it's so user-friendly. Adoption was really easy because they were already bought in on the use case. And then the tool itself was so easy to use, so there was no hurdle on the ‘why’ of using it, and there was no hurdle on the ‘how’ of using it, because it is so easy to use, which was great.”
Tilt primarily used Flowla for new business sales, but it quickly became a central tool for employee onboarding as well. With the shift to remote work, managing onboarding processes had become more challenging.
Flowla’s capabilities allowed Tilt to streamline onboarding by consolidating all necessary information in one place. The tool’s flexibility and ease of use ensured that new employees could get up to speed quickly, even without in-person training sessions.
“When we switched to Flowla, the person who does onboarding was part of the evaluation process. I remember the day that she slacked me and said, oh, my gosh! It just made my first flow, and it's been amazing. It's so easy to use.”
Flowla’s features, such as the Asset Library, were particularly well-received. The intuitive design of the tool made it easy for the team to organize and access necessary resources, which in turn, improved their efficiency.
Lasting business impact
The transition to Flowla brought significant improvements to Tilt’s operations, particularly in sales processes and employee onboarding. The platform's advanced features and user-friendly design have enhanced Tilt’s sales workflows.
Although Tilt didn’t have specific metrics to share, the qualitative feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
“We had one customer in our buyer survey say, we really enjoyed the proposal, and how friendly it was. Everything was at our fingertips. It's so nice to just have everything all contained there. And then another customer in the buyer survey said we loved the landing page with resources and demos that was shareable with other members of my team. These are the types of comments that made it really easy to tell our finance team — no, no, make an exception for us, we have to buy this tool.”
Internally, the team also praised Flowla for its ongoing development and responsiveness.
Since switching to Flowla, Tilt has seen significant improvements in both their sales processes and employee onboarding. The tool’s intuitive design and robust features have made it an invaluable part of their operations.
The fact that they can take part in shaping the product through their feedback is also highly valued at Tilt.
“It's been really fun to watch the product grow and develop, and I'm excited that we can like be along for the ride. It's wonderful as a customer to see you investing in the product and see new features coming out.”
Ultimately, Flowla has not only replaced Stroll but has also exceeded Tilt’s expectations, providing a foundation for future success as a reliable business partner.
